About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) team at Mott MacDonald. As a key member of our team, you will provide subject matter expertise and collaborate with experienced engineers and designers to deliver exceptional outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the preparation, review, and management of technical documentation for utility scale BESS projects, encompassing conceptual and detailed design, specifications, and studies.
  • Manage projects through design and construction, including RFI response, equipment submittal reviews, and coordination meetings.
  • Provide owners engineering guidance and support to project teams throughout the project lifecycle from development to commissioning.
  • Produce thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and drawings.
  • Effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring of work activities with other multi-discipline project team members.
  • Review the design work completed by peers and ensure compliance with scope and QA/QC requirements.
  • Accountable for providing design activities in accordance with applicable codes and standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to developing engineers within the department.
  • Contribute to the continual development of internal solar engineering standards, tools, and work processes.
  • Provide technical support and guidance in the identification, analysis, and resolution of problems.
  • Support business planning, development, and training.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in electrical engineering within the renewable energy sector, with a specific focus on BESS utility scale projects.
  • Significant knowledge of electrical engineering with at least 10 years of professional experience.
  • A degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized accredited institution.
  • Professional Registration: (PE) required.
  • Experience of working with electrical engineering design software applications.
