Role Summary

As a Project Manager, you will be instrumental in the successful and timely execution of various significant construction initiatives, aligning with the institution's mission. Reporting to the Manager of Construction Delivery, you will receive assignments from senior leadership and have the autonomy to make independent decisions that drive project success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize strong interpersonal skills for client engagement, expert alignment, and team leadership.
  • Monitor project budgets and timelines using Maximo software, identifying challenges and proposing solutions.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams for bid processing, contract management, and project modifications.
  • Engage with senior management to influence project prioritization and funding strategies.
  • Conduct analyses of previous projects to foster continuous improvement and serve as a subject matter expert.
  • Interact with a variety of stakeholders, including faculty, students, and local authorities.
  • Provide analytical insights and project solutions within established budgets and timelines.
  • Oversee planning, design, and construction activities, ensuring thorough documentation.
  • Maintain regular communication with departmental clients regarding building conditions and project priorities.
  • Collaborate with external consultants and contractors to define project scopes and ensure completion.
  • Facilitate the transition of projects into operational phases, engaging with design teams throughout the process.
  • Supervise project documentation and manage financial objectives through effective forecasting.
  • Administer project schedules and prepare detailed monthly reports.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant policies and assist in contractor bidding processes.
  • Evaluate contractor payment requests for accuracy and approve invoices.
  • Assist in contract preparation and negotiations related to project changes.
  • Contribute to departmental efficiency and workforce planning initiatives.
  • Resolve project-related issues and conduct inspections as necessary.
  • Participate in committees to uphold environmentally sustainable practices and informed decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years of project management experience.
  • Exceptional oral, written, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams across various organizational levels.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant field with at least 7 years of project management experience.
  • Experience in developing and managing project schedules and budgets from inception to completion.
  • Supervisory experience is advantageous.
  • Experience with higher education renovation and construction projects is desirable.
  • New York State registration in architecture or engineering is preferred, along with relevant certifications.

Salary Range

$98K - $103K
