Position Summary:

The Industrial Maintenance Specialist is responsible for both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, as well as preventative repairs on a diverse range of beverage manufacturing and packaging machinery. This role requires a solid foundation in mechanical skills, including hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, conveyor operations, and PLC programming.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct preventive and proactive maintenance according to established schedules to avert equipment failures.
  • Employ root-cause analysis techniques to troubleshoot breakdowns and production halts, collaborating with various departments.
  • Act as the primary responder during production stoppages, ensuring timely mechanical assistance is available to resolve issues swiftly.
  • Support the facility's food safety and quality assurance programs to maintain compliance and achieve optimal results.
  • Prioritize tasks to ensure prompt maintenance, repair, and installation of machinery, tools, and utility systems, minimizing downtime while maintaining accurate records in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Utilize the CMMS for managing work orders, inventory of spare parts, and other essential plant activities.
  • Repair and maintain the operational condition of industrial production or processing equipment, including inspection, assembly, disassembly, and necessary replacements.
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions through observation and testing, using voltmeters and other diagnostic tools.
  • Test repaired machinery to confirm the effectiveness of repairs.
  • Analyze test results and machine error messages to identify equipment issues.
  • Review maintenance reports and statistics to adjust maintenance strategies as needed.
  • Inspect machinery and equipment to ensure compliance with operational and safety standards.
  • Evaluate systems and facilities to determine necessary repairs.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with basic tool room equipment, hydraulic systems, and PLCs.
  • Seek continuous growth and development opportunities, actively pursuing feedback and improvement.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of the Ramsey Mechanical (Electrical) Skills and Aptitude Assessment is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial manufacturing maintenance is essential.
  • Strong troubleshooting and repair skills in electrical and electronic systems are required.
  • Ability to interpret safety guidelines, operational instructions, and maintenance manuals.
  • Competence in basic arithmetic operations and the ability to apply common sense in following instructions.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Engage in standing, walking, kneeling, and bending for approximately 85% of the workday.
  • Perform computer and administrative tasks for about 15% of the workday.
  • Capability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Effective communication skills are essential.
