Lifeguard Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and responsible Lifeguard to join our team at the City of Troy Aquatic Center. As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of all patrons and staff, responding to emergencies, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Surveillance of guests and recognition of potential hazards
  • Water safety services, including teaching swim lessons and assisting with special events
  • Facility upkeep, including daily cleaning and trash removal
  • Enforcing rules and regulations, and communicating with staff and customers in a courteous and professional manner
Requirements:
  • Minimum age 15 years
  • American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication and customer service skills
Working Conditions:

Work hours are determined by pool operation hours. Year-round employees must work a minimum of 8 hours per week, while summer seasonal employees must work a minimum of 15 hours per week.
