Job Overview
The Senior Engineering Specialist is a key individual contributor who reports to the Engineering Manager, focusing on the design and development of products across GE Aviation's engine product lines to achieve specific objectives.

This role involves making informed decisions within established parameters, applying engineering concepts to moderately complex issues, and addressing challenges through immediate actions or short-term planning.

Key Responsibilities
- Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects, leveraging guidance from senior engineering resources while adhering to sound engineering principles and business standards.
- Engage in high levels of interaction with engineers from various disciplines, manufacturing, and quality teams, fostering open and honest communication.
- Participate in biannual travel to manufacturing sites to gain practical insights into manufacturing processes.
- Conduct engineering analysis and evaluations of assigned projects to enhance manufacturability and technical robustness of components.
- Utilize engineering judgment and experience to question established processes and recommend improvements.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of engineering and manufacturing, along with analytical thinking, to execute technically complex projects that meet both technical requirements and business objectives under the mentorship of senior engineers.
- Lead technical projects of low to moderate complexity through collaboration with field and industry experts.
- Provide support for repair development, producibility enhancements, hardware delivery, and vendor qualifications.
- Serve as a resource for less experienced colleagues.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a relevant engineering role.

Desired Attributes
- Previous experience in the design of aviation components.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, particularly in Aerospace.
- A flexible and approachable demeanor when working in teams.
- Proficiency in Ansys and Unigraphics.
- Certification in ASME Y14 or practical experience with GD&T.
- A self-starter attitude with a passion for problem-solving and a commitment to continuous learning and mentoring.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs effectively.
- Established project management skills.
