Position Summary

The role of a Tanker and Vacuum Truck Operator involves the operation of specialized commercial vehicles, including vacuum trucks and tankers, for the transportation of various materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive and manage commercial vehicles such as vacuum trucks, tankers, trailers, and dump trucks.
  • Ensure the vehicle is maintained in safe working condition, adhering to scheduled maintenance protocols.
  • Keep accurate records including daily logs, safety inspections, and project reports.
  • Perform physical tasks related to project support, including lifting and handling equipment.
  • Uphold the company’s health and safety standards and policies.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations regarding safe driving and hazardous material handling.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients and team members.
  • Be available for emergency response duties on a rotational basis.
  • Adapt to varying task conditions and potential hazards.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license with necessary endorsements.
  • Be prepared to work overtime, weekends, and be on call as required.
Qualifications
  • Possession of a valid Class A CDL.
  • Clean driving history.
  • A minimum of 2 years of verified experience operating tankers or vacuum trucks.
  • Experience with manual transmission vehicles.
  • Demonstrated history of compliance with DOT regulations and safety standards.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • No history of DUI/DWI or reckless driving violations.
  • Familiarity with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
  • Willingness to travel overnight when necessary.
  • Ability to frequently lift weights of 40-50 pounds.
  • Capability to climb ladders and stairs regularly.
  • Must successfully complete a DOT physical, drug screening, and background check.
  • Current possession of Tanker endorsement is required.
  • Hazmat endorsement is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Willingness to obtain Hazmat endorsements within a specified timeframe.
