Clinical Nurse Specialist/Nurse Practice Specialist Job Description

The Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist/Nurse Practice Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Cancer Center Protocol Office, you will play a vital role in promoting competent, compassionate, evidence-based professional practice to nursing and other research team members caring for patients participating in clinical trials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support independent research nursing practice through collaborative, consultative, and role modeling activities.
  • Identify current trends in healthcare and their implications for research nursing practice.
  • Collaborate with nursing leadership and staff to respond to changes in clinical practice by designing, implementing, or evaluating guidelines, protocols, and standards.
  • Apply innovative approaches to solving complex problems.
  • Provide oversight of the protocol management system and protocol activation activities.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Nursing required.
  • Current Massachusetts RN License required.
  • NPS/CNS experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of oncology nursing experience required, including medical oncology.
  • Research Nursing experience preferred.
