Job Description

This role involves working in a collaborative environment with experienced researchers and scientists to conduct cutting-edge research projects. As a SURF participant, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop new skills and expertise in a specific area of research
  • Collaborate with colleagues from diverse backgrounds and expertise
  • Present research findings at national and international conferences
  • Publish research papers in top-tier scientific journals

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • Strong computer and laboratory skills
  • A high level of motivation and a positive inquisitive workplace demeanor
  • Interest in conducting technical research in a federal laboratory
  • Ability to commit to eleven (11) full continuous weeks during the summer

You should also have a strong understanding of research methods, statistical analysis, and data interpretation. Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB is a plus.
