This role entails comprehensive oversight of the design, building, and successful completion of the project.The position involves ongoing leadership and supervision of teams, which consist of agency personnel and contractors, including architects, engineers, and the general contractor.
Additionally, this role will oversee a contracted project manager, ensuring effective communication, coordination, and strategic planning with agency executives and local contractors.The Senior Project Manager is responsible for delivering high-quality, senior-level management, offering direction and insight throughout the planning and execution phases of the project.
In collaboration with agency leadership, the project manager will establish the overall strategy, objectives, and goals for the project(s); review guidelines, procedures, and regulations; set priorities, standards, and metrics for assessing progress; coordinate and evaluate project activities; and review and authorize project submissions, including financial draws.
This position operates with minimal supervision from the Director of Maintenance and Construction, allowing for significant initiative and independent judgment, including making real-time decisions on-site.
Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning and Oversight:
Develops, reviews, and approves project schedules, priorities, and standards to achieve project goals and timelines. Oversees project budgets and change orders, directing evaluation activities related to project completion and forecasts. Monitors ongoing project activities to ensure compliance with established guidelines and regulations.
(35%) Acts as the Owner's Representative for the assigned new hospital projects. Establishes and maintains goals and objectives throughout all phases, including design, construction, inspection, and final closeout. Plans, develops, implements, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates policies and procedures for project progression from planning to occupancy. Identifies the need for adjustments in project management activities as necessary.

Collaboration and Documentation:
Organizes and participates in regular project meetings with all stakeholders, maintaining accurate and up-to-date project plans, change documentation, meeting notes, status reports, and timelines.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Proficient understanding of commercial construction principles, techniques, materials, and procedures.
Ability to comprehend and apply construction contracting requirements.
Familiarity with basic project management practices relevant to complex projects.
Knowledge of critical codes and regulatory requirements, including Life Safety Code and Accessibility Standards.
Skills in establishing plans and setting objectives that align with project management and overall business strategy.
Proficient in creative problem-solving, communication, and coordination within complex collaborative projects.
Ability to effectively manage intricate planning and management activities, including reviewing plans and specifications, and providing constructive feedback on work prepared by architects and engineers.
Capable of directing and organizing overall project activities; establishing goals and objectives; identifying issues, evaluating alternatives, and implementing effective solutions.
Ability to foster and maintain effective working relationships with staff, design professionals, management, facility personnel, public officials, and external partners.
