Job Summary

The Production Reconditioning Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the reconditioning process at US Auto Sales. This role involves managing a team of employees to meet production and quality standards while adhering to company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day activities of technicians, detailers, and vendors to ensure timely movement of vehicles.
  • Lead and train a team of technicians and/or detailers to complete repairs effectively while minimizing re-checks and delays in production.
  • Maintain service quality by overseeing and inspecting vehicles serviced by technicians, detailers, and vendors.
  • Identify mechanical and physical defects of incoming inventory to determine proper reconditioning requirements.
  • Assign work orders and initiate approval for repair orders and close work orders after careful review of completed repairs.
  • Ensure all labor hours are flagged and the appropriate invoices are applied at the time of completion.
  • Monitor department reporting such as technician hours, reconditioning costs, overtime, after-sale repairs, vehicle cycle time, etc.
  • Manage the safe movement of cars into and out of the Inspection and Emission Center, while meeting or exceeding production and quality goals.
  • Coordinate delivery of vehicles to outside vendors for repairs when necessary.
  • Assign employees transport routes to pick up and deliver vehicles to various locations.
  • Keep abreast on the rapid changes in automobile technologies and diagnostics.
  • Enforce and follow all safety guidelines to minimize injuries.
  • Direct the training, performance management, and development for staff.
  • Cultivate an enthusiastic work environment that will build positive employee attitudes and increase employee morale.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 4-6 years of automotive repair experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with team to achieve results
  • Strong analysis and decision-making ability
  • Proficient computer skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of supply chain management experience
  • Trade School diploma
  • ASE Certification
