Responsibilities
As a Phlebotomist at Mayo Clinic, you will play a critical role in obtaining quality blood samples for medical testing. You will work independently and as part of a team to provide rapid response to medical emergencies and ensure accurate patient identification and specimen handling. Your responsibilities will include interacting with patients, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide excellent customer service.
You will also be responsible for using various computer programs and systems to manage patient information and laboratory results. Additionally, you will assist with the training of new employees and students, and participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Additional qualifications include a valid phlebotomy certification from an approved laboratory certification agency, such as the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), National Health Career Association (NHA), or the American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians (ASPT).
Preferred qualifications include phlebotomy experience and experience working in a medical field. You must also be able to push a cart and walk distances, and possess good written and oral communication skills.

Mayo Clinic offers a competitive compensation package, including a salary range of $24.48 to $26.14 per hour, depending on experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings, and paid time off.
