The successful candidate will be responsible for moving material by operating a forklift, ensuring that material and products are at the right place to achieve maximum efficiency.

The Forklift Operator will be responsible for:

  • Loading and unloading trailers and placing materials in proper locations
  • Keeping updated records of inventory and activity logs
  • Transporting materials to different locations within the facility
  • Securing loads to the machine before transportation
  • Inspecting for damages to vehicles
  • Operating and managing technical equipment
  • Adhering to production schedules
  • Exchanging propane tanks on the back of the lift when it is out of gasoline
  • Restacking lumber when piles are knocked over or need adjustments
  • Assisting team members in the yard and on the floor as needed
  • Adhering to safety management standards and identifying workplace hazards
  • Complying with company policies and safety guidelines to maintain a safe and orderly environment
  • Special projects as assigned

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly sitting on a powered industrial truck
  • Frequently lift up to 50 pounds and adjust body position to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for long periods of time
  • Having a good sense of balance
  • Having good eye-hand-foot coordination
  • Ability to assess weights and judge distances and heights
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending on the season

Compensation details: $15-$20 hourly wage
