Crown Cork & Seal USA, Inc., a leading global packaging company, is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician/ Electrician to join our team at our Dubuque, Iowa location. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our high-speed manufacturing equipment and maintaining a safe working environment.

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician/ Electrician will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical and electronic systems on our can and end line manufacturing equipment. This includes knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC's and programming software to analyze and troubleshoot line control problems. You will also be responsible for maintaining all equipment and facility systems, installing new electrical wiring and systems, and interacting closely with the operations team to plan, troubleshoot, and analyze production and equipment issues.

Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic systems on manufacturing equipment
  • Knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC's and programming software
  • Maintain all equipment and facility systems
  • Install new electrical wiring and systems
  • Interact with operations team to plan and troubleshoot production and equipment issues
Requirements:
  • High School Education/GED or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of Allen Bradley/Omron/Direct Logic PLC's and integrated Window software
  • Knowledge of single and 3 phase up to 440 volt
  • Knowledge of variable frequency drives and DC drives and ladder logic
Preferred Requirements:
  • Associates or Bachelors Degree, or a vocational or technical certification or a journeyman's card or license
  • High-speed packaging industry experience
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma, SPC, and Lean Manufacturing
Competencies:
  • Electrical, electronic, pneumatic & mechanical knowledge
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, electrical schematics, and parts specifications
  • Ability to use hand tools, multi-meters, analog & digital, ammeters, amp probes, etc.
Working Conditions:

The majority of work will be in a plant environment, with occasional work on ladders, lifts, and catwalks. The associate will be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic in the plant. The noise level is frequently loud.
