About the Role

Rumpke Waste and Recycling is seeking a skilled Lube Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance on our vehicle fleet, ensuring they are safe and reliable for our drivers and customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including inspections, lubrications, and services, to ensure our vehicles are in good working order.
  • Identify and repair or report worn or failed components, leaks, and other issues that may affect vehicle performance.
  • Assist senior technicians with repairs, maintenance assignments, and adjustments as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including time, maintenance orders, and parts usage.
  • Ensure all safety devices on vehicles are in good working order and follow all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
Requirements
  • Med Card and/or ability to obtain a CDL preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Lockout/Tag out procedures.
  • General knowledge of truck components and systems.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the job, including prolonged physical exertions, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in awkward positions and tight areas.
  • Good mechanical aptitude with basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair.
  • Familiarity with the use of computers, repair manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics necessary to troubleshoot or repair vehicle or component failure.
  • Ability to safely drive vehicles in and out of service areas.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
Working Conditions
  • Possible exposure to high traffic conditions and/or tight driving areas.
  • Exposure to residential and commercial waste.
  • Ability to travel between offices, as required.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and/or holidays.
