Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Provider Enrollment Specialist to join our team at UF Health. In this role, you will be responsible for enrolling and re-enrolling healthcare providers with various payors, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring timely updates of provider information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enroll and re-enroll healthcare providers with payors, including physicians, non-physician service providers, and other eligible providers.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of provider enrollment and certification documentation.
  • Prepare and distribute enrollment packets for each eligible provider.
  • Obtain UFJP provider numbers from Accounting and follow up on open provider enrollment applications with carriers.
  • Interact with Information Services to ensure timely updates of provider information in the IDX system provider dictionary.
  • Distribute provider start and termination date information to all appropriate personnel.
  • Assist providers, clinic personnel, and co-workers with enrollment issues and questions.
  • Inform appropriate personnel and providers of changes in key enrollment issues/policies.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required; associate's degree preferred.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheet, word processing, and database software, preferably Excel, Lotus, MS Word, and WordPerfect.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and courteously, both orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated self-motivation, ability to work independently with particular attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Concisely communicate and relate to all levels of the organization, customers, and outside agencies.
  • Ability to handle records in a confidential manner and to file appropriately.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Management information systems and medical software required.
  • Physician billing experience preferred.
  • Medical office or third-party carrier experience preferred.
  • Credentialing knowledge or experience helpful.
