Job Summary: NovaCare Prosthetics & Orthotics is seeking a highly skilled Certified Prosthetist Orthotist (CPO) to join our team in Southfield, MI. As a CPO, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care experiences, overseeing all stages of design, fabrication, fitting, and maintenance of prosthetic devices related to patients' needs, as indicated by a physician.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all stages of design, fabrication, fitting, and maintenance of orthotic/prosthetic devices related to patients' needs, as indicated by a physician.
- Assist physicians with the evaluation and analysis of the patient's need for orthotic/prosthetic services.
- Ensure proper patient management is consistent with established practices for orthotic/prosthetic care.
- Identify and reconcile issues/problems to ensure patient satisfaction with devices provided.
- Ensure highest standards of patient care are provided to all patients, including but not limited to adequate follow-up with patients and physicians.
- Reviews new techniques and materials to ensure the widest range of flexibility and services offered.
- Maintains accurate documentation to clearly define goals, issues, and solutions for each patient.
- Provides administrative staff with information to conduct reimbursement activities.
- Provides information to facility management to ensure proper management of inventory and materials.
- Meets with physicians, case managers, and other referral sources to market orthotics/prosthetics services and capabilities.
- Provides on-call services, as necessary.
- Recommends treatment options to physicians, when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from an accredited college or university from a recognized Orthotics and Prosthetics school.
- American Board Certified (ABC) certification in Orthotics Prosthetics required.
- Completion of Prosthetics/Orthotics Residency.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to walk, stand, bend, and reach consistently throughout a work day/shift. Must have manual dexterity in hands in order to fabricate appliances. Must be able to lift casts up to 75 pounds. Appropriate manual dexterity to enable typing (including 10-key) throughout a work day/shift. Ability to lift up to 25lbs, safely, from ground to waist using proper body mechanics. Ability to carry office supplies up to 10lbs. Visual acuity (near and distant) sufficient to perform job duties.
