Key Responsibilities
  • Team Management: Manage the daily work of a dispatch team, including planning, executing, and monitoring their activities.
  • Route Optimization: Ensure that dispatch routing software assigns loads and delivery routes efficiently, and that the dispatch team routes loads to customers on time.
  • Customer Communication: Coordinate with customer experience and sales on exceptions, rush orders, and order changes.
  • Dispatch Coordination: Coordinate dispatchers to ensure that company and customer data is entered into transportation software in a timely manner.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain records of dispatched calls and paperwork related to delivery orders.
  • Driver Supervision: Supervise drivers' routes and field units' status to ensure efficient and productive schedules.
  • Issue Resolution: Deal with concerns from drivers on the road.
  • Resource Allocation: Balance vehicle and driver resources to maximize productivity.
Requirements
  • Experience: Must have at least 6 months of supervisor experience.
  • Qualifications: Proven experience in a dispatch or logistics role, with supervisory experience preferred.
  • Skills: Strong organizational and multitasking skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and proficiency in dispatch software and Microsoft Office Suite.
