POSITION SUMMARY
The Certified Pharmacy Technician/Assistant Buyer plays a vital role in supporting the pharmacist by executing tasks in compliance with federal regulations. Responsibilities may encompass medication order entry, medication delivery, IV admixture compounding (including cytotoxic and medium risk), Acudose operations, NarcVault management, order check-in, inventory oversight, and maintaining accurate records.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Additional duties may include:
- Assisting the pharmacy buyer in ensuring a seamless flow of stock and managing back orders.
- Overseeing monthly interdepartmental billing for departments utilizing pharmacy services.
- Verifying invoices and purchase orders for vendor payments.
- Maintaining and updating the McKesson Automatic Connect Rx database to ensure accurate drug descriptions and barcodes.
- Implementing a quality control system to ensure proper barcoding of all dispensed medications.
- Managing inventory for robotic systems based on usage trends.
- Assisting in maintaining a drug recall logbook.
- Conducting controlled substance inventory management using NarcVault automation.
- Compounding IV admixtures with precision using aseptic techniques.
- Supporting the training of new staff members.
- Accurately filling stock requisitions and patient medication orders.
- Performing AcuDose operations with attention to detail.
- Completing computer functions efficiently, including data entry and printing tasks.
- Demonstrating a willingness to assist in various pharmacy areas as needed.
- Providing accurate information to inquiries and offering constructive feedback.
- Possessing knowledge of automation systems utilized in pharmacy operations.
- Effectively managing multiple tasks and prioritizing customer service requests.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
To qualify for this position, candidates must possess:
- A minimum of a High School diploma or GED.
- Registration as a Pharmacy Technician in the state of Florida.
- At least 2 years of experience as a Licensed Pharmacy Technician.
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB) within 90 days of hire.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in operating a PC and managing documents.
