Position Overview:

Compensation: $15 per hour plus gratuities

The Beverage Service Specialist is tasked with crafting food and drink orders, serving refreshments and meals to guests in accordance with state and federal age regulations, and managing lounge/bar operations.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three to six months of relevant experience or a suitable combination of training and experience.
  • Alcohol Awareness Certification in compliance with state laws.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues promptly; devises alternative solutions and employs reasoning even in emotionally charged situations.
  • Capable of handling challenging customer interactions; responds swiftly to customer needs and service requests.
  • Maintains a high standard of professionalism; treats all individuals with respect and consideration, regardless of their status.
  • Familiarity with and ability to interpret and adhere to policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of safety and security protocols; reports unsafe conditions and uses equipment properly.
  • Ability to communicate ideas and information clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Flexibility to meet work schedule demands, including occasional shifts outside of regular hours as business needs dictate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verifies customer identification to ensure compliance with age requirements for alcohol purchases.
  • Introduces the menu, addresses inquiries, and takes food and beverage orders from patrons and/or serving staff.
  • Prepares drink orders, including wine, spirits, and beer.
  • Prepares appetizers and food items following established recipes and standards.
  • Oversees seating in the lounge/bar area to ensure all guests receive service.
  • Calculates bills and processes payments; tracks and balances sales receipts.
  • Mitigates issues related to excessive drinking by taking appropriate actions, such as ceasing alcohol service and alerting management of potential concerns.
  • Cleans bar areas, workspaces, tables, and bar equipment.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and lounge station; stocks and cleans the kitchen and bar at the end of each shift.
  • Plans, organizes, and manages the operations of the lounge/bar area.
  • Prepares fruit for drink garnishing.
  • Arranges bottles and glasses for appealing displays.
  • Creates innovative drink recipes.
  • Conducts weekly inventory of liquor, food supplies, and equipment; orders or requisitions supplies as necessary.
  • Ensures daily maintenance of temperature and waste logs.
  • Receives and inspects foodstuffs and supplies to confirm quality and quantity meet established standards.
  • Ensures proper reporting of tips for tax purposes.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
