Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Nursing Professional to join our team at Brookhaven Nursing and Rehabilitation. As a Licensed Practical and Licensed Vocational Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities
· Administer medications or start intravenous fluids, accurately documenting patient information and treatment plans.
· Conduct thorough patient assessments, identifying changes in condition and taking prompt action to address any concerns.
· Respond to patient calls, providing timely assistance and support to ensure their comfort and well-being.
· Monitor and record patients' vital signs, including height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.
· Provide basic patient care and treatments, such as taking temperatures or blood pressures, dressing wounds, treating bedsores, giving enemas or douches, rubbing with alcohol, massaging, or performing catheterizations.
· Collaborate with the healthcare team to assess patient needs, develop and implement care plans, and evaluate treatment outcomes.
· Assemble and utilize medical equipment, such as catheters, tracheotomy tubes, or oxygen suppliers, as needed.
· Accurately record food and fluid intake and output.
Requirements
· Possess a general knowledge of nursing and healthcare terminology.
· Hold current state licensure as a Licensed Practical or Licensed Vocational Nurse.
Education and Experience
· Possess a postsecondary certificate from a vocational school or an Associate's degree in nursing.
· Maintain current state licensure as a Licensed Practical or Licensed Vocational Nurse.
Physical Demands
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· May require prolonged periods of standing, moving, and bending.
· Ability to lift up to 75 pounds at times.
