POSITION SUMMARY
As a Physical Therapist, you will deliver direct therapeutic services to children in educational settings, promoting healthier and more active lifestyles. Your role will involve assessing, diagnosing, and developing individualized management plans to restore and enhance physical function that may have been compromised due to various factors such as injury or developmental challenges. You will utilize specific therapeutic exercises, activities, and manual techniques, along with education and the prescription of assistive devices as necessary.
Your caseload will primarily consist of pediatric clients with diverse developmental needs, and you will provide services in inclusive preschool and elementary school environments.
We offer flexible scheduling options, including full-time, part-time, or contracted hours.
Qualifications
  • Education: A Master's Degree or higher in Physical Therapy from a CAPTE accredited institution is required. A Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) is preferred. Successful completion of the National Physical Therapy Examination is mandatory.
  • Experience: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is essential. Experience with children and adults with Autism is highly desirable.

Licensure Requirements
Current licensure from the Florida Department of Health (or eligibility for licensure) is required. A Florida Medicaid number and National Provider Identification number are preferred. CPR Certification, First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens, HIV/Aids, and Medical Errors training are mandatory (training is available). A valid Florida Class D driver's license is also required.

All candidates must successfully pass a background check and drug screening as part of the employment process.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to communicate verbally and audibly. This role is physically demanding and involves standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching throughout the workday. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and may need to exert varying levels of force to move objects, equipment, and clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct assessments and screenings to identify clients' needs for intervention.
  • Develop and implement tailored treatment plans, monitoring clients' responses and adjusting as necessary.
  • Engage with clients, families, and team members to create effective home or community programs that enhance client performance.
  • Provide recommendations and training for adaptive devices, ensuring clients and families understand their use.
  • Document assessments, treatment progress, follow-up, and service termination accurately.
  • Participate in discharge planning and ensure compliance with documentation procedures.
  • Maintain productivity levels as established by the Therapy Director.
  • Exhibit professionalism and ethical behavior in all interactions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Supervisory Duties: This position may include supervisory responsibilities.
