About the Role

Penske Logistics is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our Roadside Assistance team. As a key member of our emergency response team, you will be responsible for providing top-notch service to our customers who require roadside assistance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond promptly to roadside assistance calls and diagnose issues with tractor trailers in all weather conditions.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on the side of the road, ensuring the safe and efficient resolution of issues.
  • Restock and maintain the rapid assist vehicle with tools, parts, and supplies as needed.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure seamless communication and efficient resolution of roadside assistance calls.
  • Participate in designated in-shop repairs and maintenance tasks as directed by the supervisor.
Requirements
  • 2-4 years of practical experience with tractor trailer maintenance.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Vocational/Technical or certification preferred.
  • Specialized training in the repair and replacement of vehicle components preferred.
  • Proficiency in the use of shop tools required.
  • Current CDL license with air brake certification required.
  • Basic computer skills preferred for data entry into maintenance systems.
  • Ability to work in non-climate controlled conditions required.
Working Conditions

The associate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, responding to emergency calls and performing repairs in various weather conditions. The associate must be able to work safely at heights using applicable ladders and elevated working platforms.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate will be required to move frequently, stand, walk, climb, bend, and sit for extended lengths of time throughout their scheduled working period.

  • The associate must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs/23kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs/45kg.
