Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Customer Service Attendant II to join our team at the City of Charlottesville, VA. This role requires exceptional communication and leadership skills, as well as the ability to work with individuals with disabilities in various settings.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of six months of experience in facility management, adaptive recreation programs, athletics, or other recreational environments. They will be responsible for providing information to the public, assisting with program planning and implementation, and ensuring the safe operation of recreation centers and facilities.

This is a temporary position, and the selected candidate must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The estimated salary for this role is $18.50 per hour, based on industry standards and market conditions in the Charlottesville area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional customer service to the public, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Assist with the planning, organization, and implementation of recreation programs and activities, ensuring that they meet the needs of diverse populations.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, using software applications and databases to track participant information and program data.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and community partners to promote recreation programs and services, leveraging social media and other channels to engage with the public.


Requirements:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent, combined with relevant experience in facility management, adaptive recreation programs, or other related fields.
  • A minimum of six months of professional experience working with individuals with disabilities, either paid or unpaid, in a care, recreation, or educational setting.
  • A valid driver's license and willingness to provide a certified copy of the DMV driving record, if selected for the position.
