Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electroneurodiagnostic Technician to join our team at Ochsner LSU Health System. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will be responsible for conducting and preparing patients for routine Electroneurodiagnostic (END) procedures, including EEG, Evoked Potentials, and specialized studies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gather patient information, medical history, and family history to write an accurate comprehensive patient history.
  • Recognize and document patient or environmental artifacts, eliminating or taking proper measures to monitor them.
  • Ensure patient safety by taking appropriate action during emergency situations.
  • Interact with patients, families, physicians, and other clinical staff to explain test procedures and provide clear communication.
  • Practice basic infection control procedures, including electrode handling and disposal.
Requirements
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Associate's degree or completion of an END Program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
  • Clinical experience equivalent to 3 or more years in the field.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Eligibility for Certification in Neurodiagnostic Technology.
Physical and Environmental Demands

This role requires medium work, exerting 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The incumbent will work in a patient care area, interact with patients, and handle specimens that may contain diseases.
