Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Hosting Services Supervisor to join our team at the Electric Reliability Council of Texas. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for supervising the daily functions and providing guidance to a team of database administrators.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision: Provide daily guidance, focus, and leadership to a team of database administrators, ensuring the maintenance and reliability of multiple petabytes of storage.
  • Staff Management: Responsible for hiring, coaching, training, and performance management of staff, including reviewing and approving staff timesheets and leave requests.
  • Technical Expertise: Possess and maintain technical proficiency in key technical areas, including Oracle DBMS, Oracle Real Application Clusters, UNIX, SQL Tuning, Scripting, and Disaster Recovery.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with other technical staff within IT to provide solutions and coordinate changes, and communicate with departments outside of IT to ensure quality product delivery.
Requirements
  • Experience: Requires minimum 5 years of job-related work experience and 1 year in a leadership role, with 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in Oracle database administration in a multi-database production and development environment on Unix and Windows platforms.
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field, or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge.
Work Environment

Employees will be required to be on-site in Taylor, TX at minimum 2 days per week, or more, as needed based on business needs as determined by management. Remote work is required to be performed from your Texas residence.
