Position Overview

Role Summary:
A qualified medical professional with both academic and practical experience in utilizing imaging technology to assist physicians in diagnosing cardiac conditions. This role involves operating ultrasound machinery to produce real-time 2-D or 3-D images of the heart and its chambers.

Incentives:
This position qualifies for a commitment incentive of up to $15,000.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct echocardiograms that consistently meet diagnostic standards, generating high-quality ultrasound images of the heart and associated structures using various techniques such as 2D, M-Mode, Doppler, and Strain.
2. Administer ultrasound enhancing agents competently.
3. Provide exceptional pre-procedure and post-procedure patient care, including assessments and emergency cardiac care as needed.
4. Timely completion of structured reports for all examinations.
5. Collaborate with healthcare providers regarding echocardiogram results.
6. Maintain accurate patient records and manage report storage and data systems, ensuring efficient retrieval of stored information.

Qualifications:
Education:
● High School Diploma or GED
● Associate degree in Sonography, Radiology, or a related field within three months of hire, or completion of a twelve-month ultrasound program within three months of hire.
Licensure/Certification:
● Basic Life Support (BLS)
● Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) within one year of hire, maintaining registry status and continuing education requirements annually.
Experience:
● No prior experience required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
● Proficient in operating sonographic equipment.
● Ability to assess echocardiograms to obtain accurate diagnostic information.
● Flexibility to adjust workload according to patient needs.
● Independent judgment in acquiring optimal echocardiogram data during examinations.
● Adherence to established departmental protocols.
● Capacity to work efficiently in emergency situations.
● Comprehensive understanding of echocardiography interpretation and skills.
● Strong communication skills and sensitivity to patient requirements.
● Ability to interpret information to meet each patient's specific care needs.
