About the RoleRTP Company is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the continued safe, efficient, and effective operations of equipment used in our facility.
Key Responsibilities- Preventative Maintenance: Routinely perform preventative maintenance on all equipment and components to identify and address potential issues before they become major problems.
- Equipment Repair: Troubleshoot and repair maintenance issues on standardized equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal production levels.
- Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining parts inventory, organizing, and maintaining the maintenance shop to ensure efficient access to necessary tools and materials.
- Documentation: Document work completed as required, including logs, data reports, procedures, and other relevant documentation.
- Communication: Communicate and collaborate with other departments, including production, warehouse, and quality, regarding the status of maintenance projects and needs.
- Training and Development: Participate in training, retraining, and continual improvement processes and methods to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Housekeeping and Safety: Ensure the plant is maintained and in accordance with housekeeping policies and guidelines, and follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.
- Technical Skills: Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work process, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment.
- Communication and Teamwork: Must have the ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate courtesy and tact with people in various positions and levels within the company.
- Time Management and Multitasking: Must be capable of multi-tasking and working both as a team and independently.
- Computer Skills: Must have general computer skills, ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints, and is capable of accurately distinguishing colors.
- Physical Demands: Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, work in temperature extremes, wet and/or humid conditions, with dust, fumes, airborne particles, and exposure to moving mechanical parts.
- Education: Two-year technical degree in maintenance related field or a combination of education experience.
- Experience: Two years of experience as a Maintenance Technician preferred, with plastic extrusion experience, forklift and scissor lift maintenance experience, and basic electrical knowledge also preferred.
