This Facilities Operations Manager role is pivotal in overseeing the daily operations at a federal agency project site. The individual will be tasked with managing, monitoring, and coordinating ongoing facilities-related matters while fostering professional relationships with Client representatives. The role involves mentoring and developing AIT staff who support the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the effective functioning of building systems, including mechanical, electrical, fire/life safety, and elevators.
  • Manage maintenance activities for buildings and grounds.
  • Demonstrate personal initiative and critical thinking to perform job duties with minimal supervision.
  • Set priorities, take ownership of tasks, and maintain a high-quality standard in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communicate effectively and provide excellent customer service.
  • Ensure timely and accurate communication with staff and management regarding project requirements.
  • Utilize supporting staff members efficiently.

Salary Range: $110,000 - $125,000/year

Essential Duties:

  • Provide overall project management direction, overseeing a team of more than 20 employees.
  • Plan, organize, and staff key field positions through regional department heads or other Project Managers.
  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards in alignment with corporate policy.
  • Maintain liaison with the Client to ensure project alignment.
  • Monitor and control work tasks through administrative direction of on-site Supervisors to ensure timely and budget-compliant task completion.
  • Conduct quality control activities and implement corrective measures for any deficiencies.
  • Manage financial aspects of contracts to protect company interests while maintaining positive Client relationships.
  • Coordinate maintenance, scheduling, and staffing issues effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with all quality, regulatory, and security processes.
  • Operate facility maintenance software as provided by the Client.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a Technical Field (Education may be substituted for experience on a 1:1 basis).
  • At least 8 years of experience in the construction/building maintenance industry.
  • A minimum of 5 years leading complex projects with budgets exceeding $500K and managing a direct report team of 15+ individuals.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
  • Knowledge of safety management principles and relevant laws, ordinances, and codes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Registration such as PE, PG, or PMP.
  • Experience and understanding of Alaska Native cultures.
