About the Role

Excelitas Technologies is seeking a skilled Machinist to join our Defense and Aerospace Business Unit in Miamisburg, Ohio. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for setting up and operating various CNC and manual machines, hand tools, and precision measuring devices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC and manual machines, hand tools, and precision measuring devices to fabricate metal alloy parts and glass ceramic components.
  • Work from blueprints, sketches, and other information to fabricate hand-fits and finishes parts and equipment of limited difficulty.
  • Make measurements using precision measuring instruments and perform shop mathematics as required.
  • Dismantle, clean, lubricate, and adjust machine tools under supervision.
  • Perform other duties of a similar nature and complexity as directed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma required with 3-5 years of experience or equivalent working with machine tools.
  • Previous experience working with a CNC machine is desired or SMART NL1500.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to stand and walk for a 10-hour shift and occasionally lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to Department of Energy regulations.
  • This position requires use of information subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
