Head Athletic Trainer

Adams State University is seeking a highly qualified Head Athletic Trainer to lead our athletic training program. As a key member of our athletic department, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the athletic training room, including supervising staff, coordinating schedules, and establishing priorities.
Key Responsibilities- Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate athletic training staff, including assistant athletic trainers, interns, and student assistants.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for the athletic training program, ensuring compliance with NCAA regulations and best practices.
- Manage the athletic training room, including inventory, supplies, and equipment.
- Provide medical care and treatment to student-athletes, including assessing injuries, developing treatment plans, and communicating with coaches and other healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with strength and conditioning staff to design and implement conditioning programs to reduce the risk of injury and illness.
- Develop and implement emergency action plans to ensure medical personnel are prepared in emergency situations.
- Communicate with coaches, administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure a safe and healthy athletic environment.
- Masters degree in Athletic Training or related field.
- Current certification as an Athletic Trainer (ATC).
- Experience in collegiate athletic training, preferably as a head athletic trainer.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and maintain confidentiality.
