As a skilled Automotive Technician at Georgia College & State University, you will play a vital role in maintaining the university's fleet of vehicles and equipment. Your expertise will ensure the safe and efficient operation of our vehicles, while also providing exceptional service to our constituents.
Responsibilities- Inspection and Maintenance
Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles and equipment to identify potential issues and recommend repairs or maintenance as needed. Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements. - Repair and Replacement
Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues with vehicles and equipment, including engines, transmissions, and electrical systems. Source and procure replacement parts as needed. - Inventory Management
Maintain accurate records of vehicle and equipment inventory, including maintenance history and repair records. Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of parts and materials. - Customer Service
Provide exceptional service to university constituents, including faculty, staff, and students. Respond promptly to requests for vehicle and equipment maintenance, and communicate effectively with customers to ensure their needs are met.
- Education
High school diploma or equivalent required. - Experience
Five to eight years of experience in automotive repair or a related field. OR Demonstrated work experience in the automotive industry of 10 or more years. - Skills
Valid driver's license required. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
