We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Health Psychologist to join our team at VCU Health. As a key member of our Liver Institute, you will play a vital role in providing clinical services, teaching, and research to our hepatology and metabolic disease programs.
Responsibilities:- Evaluate patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease to identify underlying mental health problems and mental health-behavioral barriers to engaging in lifestyle interventions.
- Provide counseling to address mental health disorders and enhance engagement with lifestyle interventions and compliance with therapies.
- Develop and implement behavioral strategies to address mental health-related pathology and identify patients for referral to psychiatric care.
- Work with Addiction programs at VCU to provide alcohol-related counseling and behavioral therapies for patients with alcohol-related liver disease.
- Participate in multidisciplinary care pathway working groups and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
- Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program.
- Advanced training and experience in clinical health psychology, licensed or license-eligible in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Demonstrated experience working in diverse settings and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment.
- APA-accredited postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Health Psychology and a history of external funding and multidisciplinary collaborations.
- Demonstrated experience in multidisciplinary research collaborations developing approaches to challenging behavioral problems related to health psychology.
