Job Overview:
The Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR) team plays a crucial role in evaluating the financial stability of member firms by analyzing their financial statements, including those of banks, broker-dealers, and other financial entities.


As a Senior Financial Risk Engineer within the CCR team, your primary responsibility will be to evaluate the creditworthiness of a diverse portfolio that includes banks, broker-dealers, and various financial institutions.

Your duties will encompass conducting annual assessments and continuous monitoring, reviewing earnings reports, and evaluating new member applications.

You will also be responsible for maintaining the credit risk rating framework and ensuring compliance with established financial criteria.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Analyze financial statements to identify potential credit risks and mitigants, while assessing trends in capital adequacy, profitability, asset quality, and liquidity management of financial institutions.

2. Conduct annual assessments and ongoing monitoring of member firms to evaluate their creditworthiness.

3. Collaborate in gathering requirements for the development of credit risk monitoring tools to enhance automation and support other risk-related initiatives.

4. Work closely with internal departments, including Market Risk, Product Management, Relationship Management, Legal, and Compliance, to ensure transparency in evaluating potential risk exposures within member firms.

5. Review new member applications to determine if their financial condition aligns with the organization's membership criteria.

6. Assess the need for enhanced surveillance of member firms based on newly disclosed material events.

7. Adhere to risk-related policies and best practices of the CCR team.

8. Foster a risk management mindset within the organization by demonstrating appropriate behaviors and competencies.

9. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Economics is required; MBA or CFA is preferred.

- A minimum of 5 years of experience in risk management or financial analysis is essential.

- Strong knowledge of financial statement analysis, particularly for banks and broker-dealers.

- Fundamental skills in credit analysis, including familiarity with CAMELS and other rating systems.

- Comprehensive understanding of regulatory rules and compliance requirements.

Additional Qualifications:
- Experience with new technological initiatives and the ability to define business requirements.

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
