Physical Therapy Program Director

South College is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Doctor of Physical Therapy Program Director to lead our DPT program. As a key member of our faculty, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining program accreditation, developing and implementing a contemporary and evidence-based curriculum, and providing leadership and vision for the program.
Responsibilities:- Establish and maintain program accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE)
- Develop and implement a contemporary and evidence-based Doctor of Physical Therapy curriculum that meets accreditation standards and achieves program goals and expected outcomes
- Provide leadership, vision, and strategic direction for the DPT Program, including active collaboration with Program Directors and leadership of other South College DPT Programs
- Recruit faculty for the DPT Program and provide recommendations on continued employment and promotion of faculty in accordance with the South College System for Faculty Rank
- Attend South College activities as designated and perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Vice President and Provost
- Earned terminal academic doctorate in a discipline appropriate for teaching responsibilities
- At least 6 years of experience of full-time higher education experience, with a minimum of 3 years of experience as a core faculty member in a CAPTE accredited entry-level physical therapist education program
- Senior faculty rank (Associate Professor or higher), with experience consistent with South College system for designated faculty rank
- Understanding of higher education and contemporary clinical practice appropriate for leadership in physical therapy education
- Knowledge of legislative, regulatory, legal, and practice issues affecting clinical education, students, and the profession of physical therapy, including CAPTE Accreditation Standards
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in Tennessee or the state of residence
- Active in clinical practice, especially as applicable to clinical education
- Active in professional activities at local, state, and/or national levels
