Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Exercise Physiologist to join our team at Sheltering Arms Physical Rehabilitation Centers. As a key member of our clinical rehabilitation team, you will be responsible for providing exercise prescription and programming to patients with chronic medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Exercise Prescription and Programming: Develop and implement exercise programs to improve overall health and wellness for patients with chronic medical conditions.
  • Collaboration with Healthcare Professionals: Work closely with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech therapists to coordinate treatment and ensure comprehensive care.
  • Client Evaluation and Progression: Conduct thorough evaluations to identify client strengths and weaknesses, and develop individualized exercise programs to promote progress and improvement.
  • Group Exercise Leadership: Lead and instruct large and small group exercise classes, including land and aquatic programs.
  • Facility Operations and Safety: Monitor exercise areas to ensure a safe and quality environment for all clients and staff.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, or related field from a CAAHEP-accredited program.
  • Certifications: Current ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist certification and CPR certification.
  • Experience: Demonstrated work experience in a fitness, medical, and/or physical rehabilitative environment, including experience in physical fitness assessment, risk stratification, medical terminology, exercise prescription, and exercise programming.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, or related field; two or more years of experience in a clinical setting prescribing exercise for individuals with chronic diseases and/or neurological disabilities; group exercise certification and/or experience.
