Job Overview

Under the supervision of the Office Chief of Program Project Management (PPM) and the Supervising Transportation Engineer, the incumbent will take on the role of Project Manager (PM). The PM is accountable for the successful execution of designated capital projects, which may encompass special and locally funded initiatives. The incumbent ensures that all projects adhere to the approved scope, timeline, and financial plan.

The PM will oversee the entire project lifecycle, from the Project Initiation Document (PID) to the project's conclusion or closeout. This role entails leading all project team members in terms of cost management, scheduling, and work coordination. Additionally, the PM will liaise with local stakeholders regarding project developments and represent the District 2 Program Project Management, ensuring transparency and accountability throughout the process.

Eligibility Requirements

Eligibility for employment may be determined by the results of the Senior Engineering Geologist examination. Candidates without current eligibility (e.g., transfers, permissive reinstatements, or voluntary demotions) and those new to state civil service employment must be on the state examination list to qualify for these positions.
