Speech Language Pathologist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at Katy Independent School District. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and treating speech and language disorders in students, as well as developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) to meet their unique needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments of students' communication skills
  • Develop and implement IEPs that address students' speech and language needs
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions to students
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure students receive comprehensive support
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of student progress
  • Participate in staff development and training to stay current with best practices in speech and language therapy
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Communication Disorders or related field
  • Valid Texas license in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Ability to work with students of varying ages and abilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Working Conditions:

The Speech Language Pathologist will work in a fast-paced school environment, interacting with students, teachers, and parents on a daily basis. The position requires strong organizational and time management skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Equipment Used:

The Speech Language Pathologist will use a variety of equipment, including copiers, printers, computers, and assistive technology devices.
