Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Lead Engineer to oversee the maintenance and reliability of rotating machinery within our chemical manufacturing facility. This pivotal role emphasizes asset upkeep, reliability enhancement, outage management, and comprehensive asset stewardship to ensure peak operational efficiency.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Reliability Strategy Formulation:
- Craft and refine reliability strategies tailored to organizational objectives.
- Identify essential spare parts and equipment, establish inventory guidelines, and improve the preventive maintenance framework.
- Develop a comprehensive asset care strategy to guarantee sustained equipment reliability.
- Operational Optimization:
- Facilitate equipment and process modifications to boost overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), production yields, reliability, process quality, and preventive maintenance practices.
- Cost and Performance Evaluation:
- Examine maintenance expenditures and repair frequencies to pinpoint and rectify equipment issues.
- Utilize existing OEE loss assessments to formulate enhancement or replacement strategies for underperforming assets.
- Leadership and Team Collaboration:
- Guide cross-disciplinary teams in Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Six Sigma projects, investigations, and equipment enhancements.
- Reporting and Communication:
- Generate monthly reports detailing the status of significant maintenance and reliability initiatives as well as ongoing capital projects.
- Work Order Oversight:
- Implement and prioritize maintenance work orders, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Supervise operator input of work orders in the system for non-optimal equipment issues.
- Incident Analysis:
- Lead and coordinate RCA investigations for major reliability events.
- Designate RCA leaders and allocate resources to effectively address and resolve challenges.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Reliability/Maintenance Engineer in a Process Safety Management (PSM) regulated chemical facility.
- Strong technical expertise in predictive and preventive maintenance, asset care/OEE, and rotating equipment including compressors, pumps, fans, and blowers.
- In-depth experience with RCM, RCA, Six Sigma methodologies, and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Eligibility to work without sponsorship now and in the future.
