Position Summary:
This role offers an attractive 7 on 7 off schedule with a rotating day/night shift roster. We provide a competitive salary structured within a seven-level banding, ranging from $26 to $49 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a variety of modern mining equipment, including 400t shovels, 200t haul trucks (both electric and mechanical), drills, dozers, and other machinery from leading manufacturers.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues, troubleshoot problems, and implement effective solutions to ensure optimal equipment performance and safety.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks, including planned component changes and routine servicing, to minimize downtime and enhance equipment reliability.
  • Utilize technical information from OEM manuals, technical bulletins, and service documentation.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, document work performed, and adhere to safety and environmental regulations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Vocational or technical training in diesel mechanics is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic in a heavy equipment mining environment.
  • Current driver’s license.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and mechanical components of mining equipment.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and diagnostic techniques for diesel-powered machinery.
  • Previous OEM training is an advantage.
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced mining environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Work is conducted in a surface mine plant setting, with potential exposure to extreme temperatures and humidity.
  • Personal protective equipment is mandatory when working in a mining environment.
