About This Role:

Waste Connections, Inc. is seeking an experienced professional to join our Recruiting Team as a Regional Recruiter in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with regional and district management to identify staffing needs and provide effective solutions.
  • Deliver all aspects of the recruitment process, including sourcing, screening, scheduling, interviewing, assessment, extending offers, and monitoring new hire processes.
  • Prepare job descriptions and interview questions to ensure a thorough and consistent recruitment process.
  • Conduct behavioral-based interviews with candidates and provide coaching to hiring managers on effective interviewing techniques.
  • Build and maintain relationships with recruiting sources, including candidates, employees, other recruiters, trade schools, and business associations, to establish a pipeline of qualified candidates.
  • Develop and implement creative recruitment strategies to minimize the use of contingency and retained searches.
  • Manage and coordinate recruitment efforts with vendors and negotiate contracts and fee arrangements as needed.
  • Provide recommendations to Corporate Human Resources and regional and district managers on solutions to specific recruiting and retention challenges.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws and company policies, and educate internal clients on the importance of following pre-employment and new hire procedures.
  • Manage the tracking and documentation of all open positions, candidate applications, and recruitment metrics.
  • Adhere to the highest standards of professionalism and maintain confidentiality in matters that require discretion.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in recruiting in a professional environment, with expertise in using an Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Ability to travel to support career fairs and other hiring events.
