Job Summary

POWER Engineers is seeking a skilled Civil/Structural Designer to join its Power Delivery Overhead Transmission Line Department. The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of transmission line design for new lines, relocations, upgrades, and fiber optic additions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop transmission line projects from conceptualization to completion
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external clients to ensure project requirements are met
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and reports
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices
Requirements
  • BSCE degree from an accredited university
  • Minimum of 3 years of PLS-CADD / Transmission Line Design Experience Required, 5 years preferred
  • Strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills
  • Experience using the Microsoft Office software suite
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ideal coursework includes structural analysis, concrete design, steel design, soil mechanics, foundation design, and surveying
  • Previous design or drafting work experience, especially if related to civil and/or structural engineering, is desirable
  • Engineer In Training (EIT) registration is desired
  • Familiarity with design, drafting or engineering software such as MATHCAD, SOLIDWORKS, AUTOCAD, etc. as well as Microsoft Excel is beneficial
