Banquet Server Job Description

Job Summary:

The Banquet Server is a key member of our hospitality team, responsible for delivering exceptional service to our guests at all banquet functions. As a Banquet Server, you will be the face of our hotel, ensuring that every guest feels welcome and valued.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare for Success: Perform preparatory tasks and side work duties to ensure a seamless service experience for our guests.
  • Know Your Menu: Familiarize yourself with the menu of the assigned function and be prepared to answer questions from guests.
  • Deliver Exceptional Service: Serve guests according to our hotel standards, providing a friendly, courteous, and professional experience.
  • Respond to Guest Needs: Anticipate and respond to guest problems, complaints, and accidents, communicating with management as needed.
  • Set the Scene: Set all tables according to our hotel standards, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for our guests.
  • Maintain a Clean Environment: Clean up the banquet space after the completion of the function, ensuring that all equipment and supplies are stored and re-stocked properly.
  • Follow Procedures: Adhere to all money handling procedures when serving guests.
  • Be a Menu Expert: Know the menu items for each function served and be able to provide accurate descriptions to guests.
  • Ensure Guest Satisfaction: Focus on delivering an exceptional guest experience, ensuring overall satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • Education and Experience: High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in hotel or a related field preferred.
  • Physical Demands: Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to listen, understand, and clarify concerns raised by employees and guests.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines, with a focus on anticipating and solving problems as needed.
  • Service Orientation: Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.

Compensation: $15.00 per hour
