Are you a passionate and dedicated educator seeking a rewarding opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of middle and high school students with special needs?

Soliant Education is seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher to join our team in a supportive school environment. This full-time, in-person position for the school year offers a unique chance to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to the specific needs of students with learning disabilities, behavioral challenges, and other exceptionalities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families to develop and implement IEPs that address the diverse learning needs of middle and high school students.
  • Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and differentiated learning approaches to address diverse learning styles and academic needs.
  • Provide direct instruction in core academic subjects, such as English, math, science, and social studies, with a focus on closing learning gaps and promoting academic success.
  • Integrate social-emotional learning (SEL) strategies into the classroom environment to foster emotional well-being, self-advocacy skills, and positive peer relationships.
  • Deliver specialized instruction and support services aligned with each student's IEP goals in a small group or one-on-one setting.
  • Monitor student progress, analyze data, and report on the effectiveness of instructional strategies to inform ongoing learning plans.
  • Partner with students to develop transition plans for post-secondary education, vocational training, or independent living after high school graduation.

Qualifications:

  • Pennsylvania State Teaching License with a valid endorsement in Special Education or a related field.
  • Prior experience working with students with special needs in a middle and/or high school setting is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of child development and learning theories as they apply to students with diverse learning needs.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement effective IEPs aligned with state and federal standards.
  • Excellent classroom management and instructional skills to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with students, parents, and school staff.
  • Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting on student progress.
