Job Title: Journeyman Plumber (ECM)

Job Summary: ECM Holding Company has an opportunity for a Journeyman Plumber in Texas. Journeyman Plumbers are responsible for the installation, modification, maintenance, and repair of plumbing fixtures for drainage and water systems. This position may require travel up to a certain percentage of the time on projects that can last up to several weeks or longer.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair broken pipes, and clogged drains
  • Remove old plumbing fixtures to install new low-flow fixtures
  • Utilize hand tools in fitting of valves, couplings, and components for tanks, pumps, or other plumbing systems
  • Dig trenches/install pipes and piping fixtures for water, irrigation, or sewage systems
  • Mount hangers and brackets on walls to provide support for pipes
  • Ensure compliance with building codes and set safety standards
  • Measure, cut, thread, and assemble pipes to required angles using measurement tools
  • Inspect plumbing systems to identify issues and initiate repairs
  • Liaise with contractors and other construction workers to ensure an effective plumbing system

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Completion of a vocational school certificate program, associate degree, or apprenticeship
  • Must have Valid Texas state plumbing license
  • Minimum of years of professional plumbing experience
  • Able to read technical designs and blueprints
  • Proficient with plumbing tools, materials, and equipment
  • Expert knowledge in piping fitting
  • Driver's License

Physical Demands:

  • Constant standing and walking
  • Frequent repetitive lifting of up to lbs over shoulder height
  • Frequent moving of heavy equipment
  • Frequent bending, squatting, and twisting
  • Frequent climbing and the use of ladders and scaffolding
  • Requires stamina to work extended hours

Work Environment:

While performing the essential functions of this position, the plumber will be subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions, including exposure to extreme cold, heat, and humidity. Exposure to dusty, noisy job site conditions, fumes, and some chemicals.
