Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Habilitation Training Specialist to join our team at Home of Hope. The successful candidate will provide support services to individuals with disabilities, assisting them in daily living skills, leisure activities, and personal hygiene skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Personal Care and Support: Train, guide, or assist individuals in personal hygiene, clothing care, mobility, taking medications, managing money, meal planning/preparation, household care, communication, community participation, and health maintenance.
  2. Vocational Skills Development: Coordinate or provide instruction in vocational skills, identifying areas where assisted techniques may be useful at a job site. Develop and utilize natural supports to integrate individuals into the work environment.
  3. Independence and Inclusion: Assist individuals in achieving maximum potential toward self-determination, encouraging independence and inclusion regardless of community, social, or vocational circumstance.
  4. Team Collaboration: Work cooperatively with all employees, service providers, professionals, guardians, and families, representing Home of Hope in a positive manner.
  5. Documentation and Reporting: Document incidents, accidents, medical issues, or behavioral incidents that affect the health, welfare, or self-respect/dignity of individuals. Report suspicion of rights violations, financial exploitation, neglect, or abuse.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalency; minimum age 18
  • No experience necessary
  • Criminal arrest checks will be conducted through the OSBI, and individuals with a felony conviction will not work for Home of Hope without issuance of exception by Oklahoma Department of Human Services
  • Working home phone or cell phone
  • Valid driver's license; current automotive insurance; dependable transportation; availability to operate vehicle during day/night
  • Flexibility for working a variety of shifts and locations
