About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Dialysis Nurse Educator to join our team at Dialysis Clinic, Inc. As a key member of our clinical team, you will play a vital role in providing initial and ongoing professional training and education for our facility staff.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement unit-specific policies and procedures with guidance from our medical director and clinic manager.
  • Lead classroom theory training for patient care staff new to dialysis, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Verify new staff competencies before assigning additional independent tasks, ensuring they are confident and competent in their roles.
  • Oversee our preceptor program and report progress, ensuring our new staff members receive the support and guidance they need to succeed.
  • Educate staff on new and existing clinic policies and procedures, ensuring they are up-to-date and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide instruction to patient care team to correct deficiencies identified during federal or state surveys, ensuring our patients receive the highest level of care.
  • Assign and monitor completion of new-hire and annual online education modules within established deadlines, ensuring our staff stays current with the latest developments in dialysis care.
  • Administer annual competency testing of all patient care staff, and if needed, provide additional training to those not meeting requirements, ensuring our staff is competent and confident in their roles.
  • Audit medical records, infection control, and regulatory compliance annually, developing a corrective plan for any deficiencies and ensuring our patients receive the highest level of care.
  • Monitor and track licensure and certifications for all disciplines, ensuring our staff is qualified and competent to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Ensure any non-certified PCTs test for certification within 12 months of hire, ensuring our staff is qualified and competent to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Coordinate or facilitate CPR certification classes, ensuring our staff is equipped to respond to emergencies and provide high-quality patient care.
