The RoleAs a Licensed Practical Nurse, you'll be based at our Midtown, AL location. Your key responsibilities include triaging patient calls to prioritize medical care based on severity, providing direct patient care, ongoing education, and reinforcement of care plans under the physician's direction.
You will assist patients during exams, prepare them for treatments, coordinate tests and follow-up care, record treatment in their electronic health records, and explain patient instructions to patients/families.
This role requires delivering high-level results, demonstrating professionalism, engaging resources, and fellow team members within the center.
Responsibilities- Collect data concerning patients' physical, psychological, social, and cultural dimensions according to practice standards and policy/procedure.
- Implement interventions based on individual patient needs as directed by the provider.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of care given in progressing patients toward desired outcomes.
- Provide ongoing education and reinforcement of care plans developed by the Provider based on identified health and education needs and the condition and age of the patient.
- Demonstrate teamwork in the delivery of patient care.
- Triage patient portal messages.
- Answer phone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls.
- Make calls to pharmacy, diagnostic facilities, etc., as required by the Provider.
- Provision of basic wound care.
- Perform suture/staple removal and dressing changes as indicated.
- Medication reconciliation at point of care.
- Prepare prior prescription authorization requests for provider review and finalization.
- Manage/monitor providers' clinical inbox in the EHR and triage as necessary per the direction of the provider.
- Assist with preparation of clinical components for Provider review and finalization.
- Prepare medication refills for Provider review and finalization.
- Assist in blood draws and IV insertions for fluid infusion under the supervision of the Provider.
- Participate in center interdisciplinary team meetings related to patient care plans and outcomes of identified patients.
To excel in this role, you'll need:
- A degree from an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse Program.
- Licensure to practice as a Practical Nurse (LPN) in Alabama and Mississippi (Compact Licensure).
- Minimum 5 years of experience.
- Certifications: CPR and first aid certification required; Phlebotomy (blood draw) skills; Proficiency in EMR.
- Professional demeanor and communication skills.
- Organizational and attention-to-detail abilities.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and resourcefulness in problem-solving.
- Able to take and follow through with assigned tasks and accountability.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Outlook, and Excel.
We offer a competitive salary, estimated at $62,000-$82,000 annually, depending on experience. Additional benefits include:

This role requires standing, walking, lifting/pulling/pushing, and visual acuity for 75-100% of the time. Sitting is limited to 0-24% of the time.
