Position Overview

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and skilled Forklift Operator for a permanent full-time position in Jackson, TN.

Compensation:

  • Hourly Rate: $17.25
  • Overtime Rate: $25.87
  • Additional Compensation: $1.00 per hour for third shift assignments

Work Schedule:

The work schedule includes alternating weeks with shifts from 5:30 PM to 6:00 AM, with one week consisting of Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday (36 hours) and the following week covering Monday through Saturday (48 hours).

Responsibilities:

  • Execute various warehouse functions including loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, and operating forklifts.
  • Maintain performance measurement standards as outlined in the contract.
  • Ensure accurate picking, packing, auditing, and staging of products, as well as loading and unloading of trucks.
  • Manage day-to-day paperwork related to warehouse operations.
  • Provide technical and maintenance support for automated packing systems during production hours.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of related warehouse or powered industrial truck experience preferred.
  • Valid Forklift Operator's License required.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Dependable and punctual with a strong attendance record.
  • Capable of lifting and/or pushing/pulling up to 35 lbs and standing for extended periods.
  • Flexible availability for various shifts.
