Job Overview

Assemble high-quality automated equipment by accurately interpreting electrical schematics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Familiarize yourself with Wagstaff equipment, production workflows, and relevant business software for standard products. Utilize this knowledge in assigned equipment production tasks.
  • Read, comprehend, and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Complete quality documentation for equipment assembly in accordance with departmental and corporate standards.
  • Develop proficiency in estimating time requirements for production tasks.
  • Achieve goals related to planned hours and production timelines.
  • Collaborate effectively with Designers, Engineers, fellow Panel Builders, and other personnel to ensure quality equipment assembly.
  • Construct and wire control panels.
  • Perform mechanical assembly of power distribution panels, operator control consoles, and similar equipment.
  • Install electrical conduits, pull wires, bend and install pneumatic piping, and install motors, among other tasks related to building industrial electrical/automated equipment.
  • Conduct electrical and mechanical testing, calibration, and various quality control and process control functions on finished products.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot common systems and electrical issues.
  • Work with the Production team to integrate and connect finished electrical panels using best practices and cost-effective methods.
  • Provide constructive feedback to engineers and designers, including marking up drawings and NPR tags to enhance equipment design.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment and workspaces.
  • Adhere to company policies.
  • Work weeks exceeding 40 hours may be necessary to meet business objectives.
  • May involve various field service responsibilities, including site visits to assist customers with electrical challenges.
  • Occasional domestic and international travel may be required based on customer and company needs.
  • Assist in training other team members in basic departmental processes and equipment assembly techniques.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Work Environment

Work primarily occurs in a well-lit, climate-controlled office environment, with regular close computer work. Physical exertion is minimal, and the noise level is generally moderate.

Occasional interaction with manufacturing shop floor employees may be required, exposing the employee to fumes, airborne particles, and other manufacturing risks. Coordination with shop floor managers may be necessary before entering the shop floor, and appropriate personal protective equipment is required. The noise level on the shop floor can be loud.

Travel to customer sites may also be necessary, with similar exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and other risks associated with construction and manufacturing environments.
