Magnolia Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a skilled Maintenance Assistant to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for ensuring the facility grounds are properly maintained in accordance with facility policies and state and federal regulations. This includes performing repairs and maintenance on equipment and supplies, maintaining the building in good repair, and keeping the grounds looking neat and cared for.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the overall maintenance operation of the facility.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on equipment and supplies.
  • Maintain the building in good repair and keep free of hazards.
  • Maintain the building in compliance with Federal, State, and Local codes and laws.
  • Coordinate maintenance work with other departments.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repair work, such as painting, minor carpentry, and changing light bulbs.
  • Keep the grounds looking neat and cared for by mowing and trimming the grass, trimming the bushes and trees, and keeping the sidewalks clear of debris.
  • Keep work areas and storage rooms neat and orderly.
  • Perform duties of washing windows and screens outside of the building.

Requirements:

  • Background of maintenance work.
  • High school diploma or GED required or equivalent related work experience.
  • Ability and experience with operating various pieces of equipment, including lawn mowers, weed eaters, blowers, edgers, pressure washers, and chainsaws.
  • Sensitivity to the needs and concerns of elderly or disabled residents.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
